This policy explains how SideQuest handles information when you browse the public website, build a planning estimate, submit an inquiry, or use the client portal when it is enabled.
Information you provide
Depending on how you use the website, information may include:
- Name, business name, email address, and optional phone number
- Project type, description, budget, and preferred timeframe
- Estimator selections included with an inquiry
- Authorized client-portal account, project, file, approval, invoice, or recorded payment information
- Messages and records needed to respond to a request
Do not include passwords, complete payment credentials, government ID numbers, health information, or other unnecessary sensitive data in a public inquiry.
Estimator and inquiry information
The estimator calculates planning ranges in your browser. Approved selections may be carried between the Services, review, and Contact pages through page parameters. SideQuest does not maintain a separate estimator database unless you submit those selections with an inquiry.
Inquiry information is used to deliver, review, and respond to the request. If configured delivery fails, the website does not knowingly report the inquiry as successfully delivered.
Client portal
When the portal is enabled, it processes account and session information needed to authenticate authorized users and display their assigned records. Depending on the client relationship, those records may include project updates, private files, approvals, invoices, and payment status.
Payment processing
Online payments and recurring Website Care billing are available only when deliberately enabled. Stripe processes enabled payment forms. Complete card and bank-account details entered into Stripe-controlled fields are not received or stored by the SideQuest website.
SideQuest may retain invoice identifiers, amounts, statuses, dates, plan details, and Stripe references needed for accounting, reconciliation, support, fraud prevention, and dispute handling. Stripe processes information under its own privacy notice and legal obligations.
Information collected automatically
Website delivery and security providers may process limited technical information such as IP address, requested URL, time, browser or device information, status codes, and security signals. Strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies may be used for delivery, authentication, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
Public pages may record the requested path, time, and a randomly generated browser-session identifier used only to estimate visits and page views. Privacy-friendly Cloudflare Web Analytics may also be enabled. Portal, authentication, invoice, payment, and API pages are excluded. SideQuest does not use advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral advertising.
How information is used
- Operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website
- Generate planning estimates and carry approved selections
- Receive, review, and respond to inquiries
- Operate authorized portal, project, invoice, and payment features
- Prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Meet legal, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations
Providers and sharing
SideQuest does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information may be processed by providers that support website hosting and security, email delivery, business communications, scheduling, website delivery, domain registration, and optional payments.
Depending on the service used, providers may include OpenAI/ChatGPT Sites infrastructure, Cloudflare, Resend, Google Workspace/Gmail, Zoom, the website hosting platform, an agreed domain registrar, and Stripe. Each provider controls its own service and privacy practices.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to investigate fraud or security issues, to enforce applicable terms, or in connection with a future transfer of business assets.
Retention
Information is generally kept only as long as reasonably needed for its original purpose and for security, legal, accounting, recordkeeping, or dispute-resolution needs. Inquiry records that do not become projects are generally kept for up to 12 months after the last substantive contact. Accepted project and accounting records may be kept for up to seven years after project closure or final payment. First-party public page-view records are automatically removed after about 13 months. Short-lived authentication and anti-abuse records are kept only as needed for those functions.
Providers may maintain their own logs, backups, and records under their own retention schedules.
Your choices and requests
You may request reasonable access to, correction of, or deletion of inquiry information SideQuest maintains about you. Identity verification may be required, and records may be retained when needed for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping purposes.
